What's to Know About an ICO?

Hi Readers:

It's been a minute since I have written anything about cryptocurrencies; especially since Bitcoin took a serious nose dive from 11,000 to 8,000 dollars from January to March. The regulations are getting tougher and tougher. It's hard for the average guy or girl to make money in a non-traditional fashion.

However, the wheels just keep turn and we as entrepreneurs keep finding ways to create wealth.
Over the last three months, I have been studying and learning about ICOS. Since this is the latest trend and appears to be a safer and more lucrative avenue for the average person with no or little capital.

ICOS has raised plenty of capital for start-up companies since last year. With this newfound way to create tons of capital, more entrepreneurs are utilizing ICO to create funding before going to the marketplace; therefore creating a more profitable product/token before listing on public exchanges.

Let's get to it! What actually is an ICO?

An Initial Coin Offering, also commonly referred to as an ICO, is a fundraising mechanism in which new projects sell their underlying crypto tokens in exchange for bitcoin and ether. ... ICOs are a relatively new phenomenon but have quickly become a dominant topic of discussion within the blockchain community. Aug 10, 2017

Some attributes of a good Initial Coin Offering
  1. Must be sustainable
  2. Address and solve a current problem
  3. Must be a demand for the service
  4. Must have a white paper( the white paper will define what the company is addressing and implement a plan to resolve the problem)

There are many new ICO popping up everyday. Please don't be fooled by them. Some are easy to join and others are not open to US Citizens. Before considering any ICO , read the white paper. Do your due diligence. You can research by reading Reddit, conducting a Google alert. Join groups that talk about ICO and learn as much as you can.

Plexcoin- Scam or Legit?

Hello Readers,  I am sharing some information to you about a new cryptocurrency called Plexcoin. In my last post, I informed you that there are about 831 cryptocurrencies on the cryptocurrency exchange. Some are well known while others have not been heard of yet. When starting out most offer a low price and are affordable to every person so they can"get their feet wet." I am constantly diversifying my portfolio of cryptocurrencies to get the ones in high demand at a low price then sell. While I am still learning every day about cryptocurrency, my research leads me to new cryptocurrencies that I think will impact the marketplace. Maybe, maybe not! The first cryptocurrency that I will share information is  PLEXCOIN What is PlexCoin? is a cryptocurrency (private internet currency), that has a value based on the current market. In other words, PlexCoin is an open source worldwide currency entirely decentralized without central authorities. This means that your transaction...

Virtual Currency Now on the 2020Tax Return Form- How to file Crypto Taxes

For years now, we have not had to report to the government about our buying and selling of virtual money until this year 2021 for our 2020 tax returns. I called my accountant to inform him that I received a form from some of the exchanges that I deal with stating that they reported the purchase of virtual currency to the government. I was surprised to see that this happening right now. So my question to you is:   Have you received any information from Coinbase, Square, and some of the other exchanges stating that they are reporting your cryptocurrency purchases to the government. If you did not get a statement in the mail then you were sent an email stating to print out the form. If you have been purchasing cryptocurrency, please keep all of your records from all of the exchanges that you have made a purchase with to ensure whether you have profits or losses. Consult with a Tax Accountant to ensure that you have all the right documentation to document your purchases. Hopefully...
